About ProjectPriced

ProjectPriced publishes independent, plain-English cost ranges for common home-improvement projects — roofing, solar, HVAC, windows and siding — so homeowners can budget with confidence and sanity-check the quotes they receive.

Why we exist

Getting a straight answer on what a home project should cost is surprisingly hard. Contractor quotes vary enormously, lead-generation sites bury the numbers behind a form, and much of what ranks in search is thin or out of date. We built ProjectPriced to be the resource we wished existed: clear cost ranges you can read in seconds, with the assumptions and cost drivers spelled out, and no wall between you and the figures.

What we publish

Every guide gives an estimate range — a realistic low-to-high band — rather than a single number, because real projects always vary by size, material grade, roof pitch, home layout and local labor rates. National ranges come from market research across manufacturer pricing, contractor and industry cost data and published cost surveys. Our metro pages apply a transparent regional multiplier to those national ranges to reflect local labor and material costs. We explain exactly how we do this on our How We Estimate page.

What we are not

We are not a contractor and we are not affiliated with any manufacturer or installer. Nothing on this site is a quote, a bid or a guarantee of price. Our figures are for planning and comparison only — the only way to get a real price is a written quote from a licensed contractor who has seen your project.
